Panel Physicians are medical doctors who are authorized to conduct immigrant medical evaluations by governments of countries who receive migrants. Panel Physicians implement screening guidelines required by the governments of Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the UK and the USA. There are approximately 700 Panel Physicians who screen migrants for the USA and 2,400 Panel Physicians and radiologists who screen for Australia, Canada, New Zealand and/or the UK. Panel Physicians and their colleagues form a diverse network of health professionals who must think globally, while engaging local communities and individual immigration applicants.
Panel Physicians are required to implement the Technical Instructions for the examination of migrants for each destination country. The Technical Instructions and requirements for each destination country vary, and can even vary by visa type of the migrating individual. All Panel Physicians must adhere to the Technical Instructions, however differences in practice management worldwide create unique opportunities for professional growth among the network of Panel Physicians.
