Foundations for Immigrant and Refugee Health Screening in Latin America Workshop

International Panel Physicians Association (IPPA), in partnership with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and International Organization for Migration (IOM), is facilitating an in-person workshop in San Jose, Costa Rica (July 25 - 26, 2024): Foundations for Immigrant and Refugee Health Screening in Latin America. This workshop is for Latin American Panel Physicians and their clinical staff.

The workshop is intended for both experienced panel physicians and those new to the panel physician program. Newer panel physicians will have opportunities to learn from more experienced panel physician colleagues. Participants will also have the opportunity to cultivate cross-coordination between panel physicians, IOM, and the United States government.

The workshop will build participant capacity to conduct health assessments and other requirements for US-bound refugees, parolees, and immigrants. Sessions include foundational technical instructions and considerations for special populations related to family reunification, Safe Mobility Offices (SMO), and Operation Enduring Welcome for Afghans.
